Persuasion is a romantic story that doesn't follow the pattern of a relationship blooming after a meetcute, but it follows Anne, as she comes face to face with a man she loves but had to give up and break his heart eight years ago.
The story has its moments, and the ending is especially delicious, with all the feelings finally bursting (especially that letter!!!). There were times, however, that the book got quite boring, like when Anne was at Bath with her family. Still, the characters were wittily crafted and some moments were funny.

Never fails to please!
Persuasion is a work of art. A must read! Beautiful, elegant prose, sweet with a superb understanding of human behaviour that never fails to make you smile.

A delightful, easy, and restful read.
The patient and virtuous character of Anne Elliot made me want to reevaluate my life, all my relationships, and my resolve to goodness. Her life, though sad in many aspects, made me want to be as courageously patient as she proved to be. Her fortitude through misfortune was both endearing and infuriating. There were a few times when I just want to convince her to give in, or to shout out, or to just complain a little like everyone around her did. But then, Anne is a better person than I am, and that is why I enjoyed reading about her so much. I hope to be more like Anne Elliot someday, and will cherish her memory and wisdom through this story until I can relate to her more.

Im not the biggest connoisseur of Jane Austen, and while I tend to enjoy watcher her works over reading them, I have to say I really loved this one! It’s not often that you can see a second chance romance carried out so well, and I’m always a fan of a ship captain, so this one was right up my alley!
