Ik wou altijd weten wat er verder gebeurde in dit verhaaltje. De situering van het mysterie is ook heel uniek. Ik vond het op een manier voorspelbaar en onvoorspelbaar tegelijk. Ik hou ook van de hoofdkarakters. Broeder Cadfael is Poirot in een vorig leven. Soms had ik wel moeite met de vele details.

Very cosy, oddly enough, given the brutal civil war and mass executions that form the backbone of the plot. I knew I liked Hugh when he was first introduced, so his antagonist-arc was quite satisfying to see play out the way I half-predicted.
