classic/80s rock references, cute romance, friends-to-enemies-to-rivals-to-kinda-friends-to-lovers, pop culture references constantly, sarcasm, rivaling businesses. CLASSIC/80S ROCK REFERENCES.

more cohesive review later when I recover from this ending.

I really wanted to like this book. I was under the impression that it was going to be a good cozy romance and it turned out to not be that. The story would've worked better if Chris and Witney were friends because that's how little romance there was. It was almost like there were blips of it and flashes, but never amounted to anything; when it did come up, it didn't pop up until page 200 of the book so it's not worth it if you're looking for a good romance book. I'm sad to say that this was such a disappointing read. The writing lended more toward the art of pinball machines, arcades, gaming cafes, and the city of Philly than any romance it was hoping to offer. I'd say it feels like there's 2% of romance in this book even though this supposed to be that. Overall, I'd give it a 1.8/5.

a super cute and cosy read that screams for a winter evening and a side of hot chocolate.

whilst I do feel the pacing could have been improved upon slightly and the writing read a little clumsy at times, this was overall a lovely story and one that is dying to be made into an a+ netflix rom-com.
