This is the kind of things I like to read just to ease my mind off things and off deeper and more thoughtful books. I am a sucker for these kind of stories, but I sure wished it was written better. There are lots of holes in the plot, plus the time skipping and the rush of it all didn't really help its case. I am going to read the sequel too, hoping these new characters are better. They both seemed interesting in the first book.

It was much different than I expected.
I expected this to be much more of a rom-com filled with hilarious awkward moments before a HEA based upon the blurb. However, this book quickly took a much more serious road with the subject of the stressors and anxiety of "coming out", fear of abandonment, manipulation in relationships, and what it means to be of the LGBTQ lifestyle in a sports celebrity platform. It also applauded the support of found family.
With that being said, I did love the two main characters and the relationship they built together. Had some spicy scenes. Still good despite being different than what I thought.

A solid romance but a little too much misogyny for my taste

This was such a cute and quick little read that I polished off easily jet setting across the country after a fun vacation. Sweet and sassy and steamy, oh my! 🌶️❤️⚾️
