bad lol

I don‰ЫЄt know. I get the point of the book but at the same time I can‰ЫЄt get over the stupidity of these characters. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion. You know it‰ЫЄs going to end really badly and you get so frustrated at the parties for not seeing it but you at the end when all is said and done it‰ЫЄs hard to stay mad at them after it all blows up in their faces and they suffer their consequences. Molly is severely troubled and she needs to seek professional help asap. The lack of self control or consideration for anyone else‰ЫЄs feelings is very troubling. It‰ЫЄs realistic in the sense that many people fall into this self destructive spiral and drag who ever is near them with them but girl my god. The way Imogene stayed at the margin of it all and stayed a true friend was truly inspiring. It‰ЫЄs how I hope to be as a friend. Imogene was my biggest takeaway from this book. Be more like her and how she handles the trainwrecks (molly) that enter her life. I really hope her and Gabe never get back together. Move on and leave that family alone once and for all let them figure out their own shit. I reaally really hope she gets therapy too for her in inclination to destructiveness. Jesus.

This book is a brother-brother love triangle but it just felt like a bad version of "The Summer I Turned Pretty".

This book was easy to read and the journal-esque formula was a unique format that worked well for this story. This saved it from being a 1 star ranking because the characters are terrible. Every single one of them. Especially Molly. She is selfish, and has no redeeming qualities to her. I did have sympathy for her at the start of the book after what felt like the entire town solely blamed her past mistakes. However, that quickly went away when she continued to make bad decision after bad decision with little to no regrets. Characters should evolve through the book and I feel like that was lacking here. She was the same shitty person she was the year before.

The bullying and double standard from the majority of characters also did not sit well with me and none of them seemed to have learned from their mistakes either. Julia and company were the same terrible people they were from the start. The brothers were also bad characters. Every good love triangle book forces readers into 'teams', I wasn't rooting for either one of them which I think is a huge red flag.

This book had so much unexplored potential from her relationship with her mother, to Julia dealing with her secret sexual identity. I hope the sequel taps into that potential. Although from the summery it sounds like Molly is back to making poor, selfish decisions.

This book had an interesting story line that may or may not be interesting to some. I enjoyed the book and believed it to be an easy read. I did not want to book to end and wish there was more. Thoroughly enjoyed the authors writing style.

Didn’t love this, didn’t hate this. Just liked it. I enjoyed the topic of this book, girl is dating a boy but sleeps with his brother. You don’t see that often in YA but girls cheating is real life. I read this because 9 Days and 9 Nights intrigued me!

I loved and hated this book. Loved how Gabe still loved her and actually loved her for a long time and despite how his family felt, didn't give up on her. I hated how she strung them along for a long time and how she didn't have the balls to tell Patrick to knock it off. Halfway through I was ready to smack her upside the head with the book.

Received a copy from the publisher via Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

99 DAYS pleasantly surprised me! The synopsis made me think this book was going to be another cliche story of a teen love triangle. But it was a rich, layered, and compelling story of mistakes, love, friendship, family, and growing up. I loved watching Molly struggle with very real issues. The way the summer plays out was totally unexpected.

This one seems to be very polarizing. Try to keep an open mind and realize these are the kinds of stories worth reading. The characters are flawed, as is their behavior and it makes for fantastic storytelling. Definitely want to read more from this author!
