Gotta say, I wasn't expecting that ending (even if I've read these books before, it's been long enough for me to forget).

I am left feeling at the end a little mystified. Am I to believe it was all merely Seymore's imagination? A sick kid trying to find his way out of dying? A heroine who rescues him several times?

It makes me think back on all the adventures I feel I have had with Sita...suddenly erased.

And yet, looking back to those memories, she was never really happy. Ever. So many things caused her such pain. It is on this thought I realize her choice was the right one. To end the suffering before it even began.

As a whole: this series is one that I feel is fantastic. The lure of these books was so strong that I re-read them ten years later, and I made some of my students read them too.

Christopher Pike, I salute you.

The last book was a nice tie-in, culmination and conclusion of the previous novels

The last book in the series; one that I never read in high school. Sita travels back in time psychically to stop the threat that comes at the end of the age Kali Yuga, then travels back further to put herself to rest. Interesting conclusion.

I found this book more difficult to get through than the others. It was pretty slow and not very much action happened. I definitely prefer the first 3 books in this series. I did like the bittersweet ending. I just wish that I enjoyed all of the books to the same degree.

The first and last books (#1 and #6 of the original printing, at least, I heard there were additional books after the supposed closure?) were by far the best out of the series. Although the time travel aspect was a little left-field, it was hinted at in previous books (before the daughter was born) as more supernatural aspects being a possibility.

Creatures of Forever is the sixth book in The Last Vampire series by Christopher Pike. Well… this story certainly took a turn I didn’t expect. The last couple of instalments lead up to this conclusion to the series…. and picks up where the last book left off. In this story Alisa/Sita travels back in time to fix a wrong. There is such a lot at stake- failure is not an option. We follow along as the story unfolds, witnessing historical events as all the adventure unfolds. All the threads are tied up as the series concludes. Definitely a bit of a twist to the series.
As the story continues from one book to another through the whole six books, I really recommend reading the entire series, in sequence, so you have all the important information and continuing story threads- in order to fully understand and appreciate what’s happening. I don’t think any of them would read as well as a standalone.
These books have been in my bookcase ever since my daughter was a teenager, and I came across them again while rearranging my bookcases recently. I had read the first few books many years ago now, and couldn’t really remember them- and since I wanted to finish the series, I decided to read all 6 books back to back.
The book/series has quite an original premise, with interesting and somewhat quirky characters, and a well-crafted storyline. This has a fast, action-packed plot- which makes it quite a quick and easy read. There is some mystery, a little suspense, drama, some sci-fi elements, and plenty of intrigue.
So, if you love paranormal, fantasy, vampires, young adult stories, with action and adventure, then this is definitely the story/series for you!

Thank you, Christopher Pike!
