Thank you to the author for the gifted paperback. Opinions are my own.

This is one of those books that Omegaverse girlies cannot miss out on. Trust me, it's hard to hook me on Omegaverse so when I say I'm obsessed, believe it!

Whisked Away is the first book in a why choose, omegaverse romantasy series. The story follows Princess Reiyana, who unexpectedly becomes an Omega and thus a coveted political prize for the Alphas of the surrounding kingdoms. Reiyana is determined to claim back her freedom, but her plans are challenged when Prince Kaelendrin and Prince Alarik of Asadia enter the tournament to claim her hand. And here’s the catch: if she chooses one, she must accept the other as well.

As much as romance is an important component of this book, it is in no way its only strength. Whisked Away is a perfect blend of world building, intrigue and layered, complex characters that made both the fantasy reader and the romance reader sides of me very happy. Though I admit, I could not get enough of my darling princes. I loved being in their heads, not only to read those precious MMC thoughts about the heroine, but also to see the deep bond that runs between the brothers from their own perspective. A brotherly love that withstood many trials and cannot be taken for granted, seeing as circumstances would have easily seen them being enemies. I also appreciated Reiya’s growth. Despite not being the classic badass Romantasy heroine, in trying times, she showed courage, strength and perseverance that are traits that I deeply respect.

Here are some tropes to look forward to:
⁃ Royalty romance
⁃ Slow burn
⁃ Reluctant hero
⁃ He falls first
⁃ MFM why choose romance
⁃ Omegaverse

Okay, bestie, let me tell you… this book was a hot tamale wrapped in royal court drama, and I devoured every page like it was my last meal. You know when a book just sneaks up on you, seduces your soul, and suddenly you're sweating, emotionally attached, and slightly feral? Yeah, that was this book.

We follow a princess Reiyana, who goes through her late omega awakening at 20 (cue the drama), and her whole life basically explodes. And I mean that in the best way possible. There’s betrayal. Self-discovery. Slow-burn spice that sneaks up on you until you’re absolutely melting. It’s the kind of burn where you don’t want milk or water— you just sit in it, sweaty and satisfied.

Let me just say: balls. So many balls. Of the formal variety, obviously (or are they? 😏). Plus political court intrigue in an omegaverse setting, betrayals that made me clutch my imaginary pearls, and an FMC with a glow-up so fierce I literally whispered "yas, queen" more than once.

Oh, and the two MMCs? I was panting. Panting. Like I was the one going into heat. They are sweet, supportive, and just the right amount of spicy. It's like Bridgerton meets Runaway Bride, but instead of dukes, we’ve got royalty, and instead of Lady Whistledown, we’ve got... well, a kind-of version that had me wishing there was more tea to put in my cup. Add in some “why choose” dynamics and you’ve got a delicious, chaotic cocktail of romance and fun.

Now, I don’t normally gravitate toward sweet or whimsical reads (y’all know I like my romance with a body count) but this book? This book said, “What if we combined all your guilty pleasures and dressed them up in silk and tiaras?” And I said, yes… please. It blends sugar and spice with just the right amount of angst, female rage, and tension. And honestly… I ate it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. I licked the plate, okay? 😮‍💨

If you're a romantasy fan— or curious about dipping a toe into the “why choose” genre without diving straight into the dark and depraved, this is your next must read instantly placed at the top of your TBR. The dynamic is soft, sweet, deliciously spicy, and so emotionally satisfying it should come with a warning label.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to fan myself and re-read the ballroom scenes.

Thank you so much to the author for a copy of this e-book and exchange for my honest feedback

HUGE CAVEAT: I'm not super into Omegaverse, I got this recommendation from a redditor who sold it for me. I was also iffy about the half brothers, but, it was presented in such a way (for me) wasn't giving the ick.

This is a beautifully written Omegaverse romance. The MC is thoughtful and introspective. She's a problem solver and quickly catches on to her surroundings. She helps herself a LOT, in empowering ways that were great to read. The treatment of the Princes were great, I never once thought "run girl!" about these two. The book length was worth the lengthy read, I was never bored. The spice wasn't dark, it's very cozy and slow and dreamy.

I appreciate the extra explanations at the beginning of the book, they were super helpful. If you're casually dipping your toes into this genre, I'd recommend not skipping the warnings.

Whisked Away – Enola M. Douglas

First things first !!! please read the trigger warnings !!! before diving into this book. It touches on some intense and heavy things that could catch you off guard if you’re not prepared. This is an Alpha/Omega/Beta story with reverse harem dynamics and more, so just know what you’re getting into before you start.

We follow Reiyana, who’s on the edge of a major life change. She’s always known her future. Marry her childhood friend Castiel, a Beta, and live the life that’s been planned for her since she was young. What no one expected, herself included, was that she would bloom into an Omega later than most. In her world, Omegas are rare, powerful, and expected to marry Alphas in order to preserve the strength of their bloodline and leadership in the kingdom of Aethonia.

Everything changes when a tournament is held to determine who will win Reiyana’s hand in marriage. Two half-brothers, Kaelin and Alarik from the rival Asadian kingdom, show up out of nowhere and decide to enter for fun, for adventure, maybe even curiosity. But they win. And rumors swirl that the two of them form a pack… which doesn’t sit well with Reiyana at all.

Now she has a choice: run away with Castiel to escape the burden of her new status and the fate expected of her or fulfill her duty as an Omega and face what’s being asked of her. But of course, there’s so much more going on beneath the surface. Betrayals, secrets, and a deeper fight for power that she never saw coming.

This genre isn’t usually my go-to when it comes to fantasy, so I was already feeling a little unsure going in especially after reading the author’s note and all the trigger warnings. I was honestly nervous it would be heavy on the spice and light on the plot. But the beginning pulled me in fast, and to my surprise, the world-building and the story actually had real depth. The author clearly put time and thought into this world and the characters within it.

I’ve read stories with similar warnings where the focus is more on the shock value or smut than the actual plot but that wasn’t the case here. There’s real story here. Reiyana faces both internal and external struggles, and the plot actually matters. For this sub-genre, I think it was really well done.

Now, I will say the biggest “ick” for me personally was the frequent use of the term “Alpha”, especially during the more intimate moments. It kind of pulled me out of the scene and made it feel cringey at times. I know some readers love that or don’t mind it, but it wasn’t for me and made me want to look away. Still, I know others might enjoy that element more than I did.

Overall, though? I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the story, especially for a genre I don’t usually gravitate toward.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op, and Enola M. Douglas for the chance to read this early release. I’m incredibly excited to see what the next book brings!

Babe... I devoured this book. Whisked Away is everything I didn’t know I was craving—my first Why Choose + Omegaverse and honestly? I’m ruined now. For real. 🫠🔥

Reiyana starts as a Beta with soft dreams and a tender heart—but the moment she’s thrust into the spotlight as a political prize, everything changes. She's no damsel, though. This girl is all fight, fire, and strategy, and I was OBSESSED with her transformation. 👑

Enter the two swoony princes: Kaelendrin (calculated charm) and Alarik (feral protector energy). They both join a royal tournament to win her hand, but end up unlocking parts of Reiyana she never dared explore—especially once her suppressed Omega instincts come roaring to life. The slow burn?? Insane. And when it hits? It hits HARD. 🔥

And babe... the politics?? Twisty and delicious. The betrayal?? Heart-wrenching. The power dynamics?? So addictive I was up till 3AM like 👀. And the found family moments—especially with Mei Mei—had me sobbing and smiling at the same time. 💗

Castiel?? LOATHED him. The rage was real. But watching Reiyana claw her way through impossible choices, uncover hidden truths, and reclaim her destiny? Absolute queen behavior.

Also, the worldbuilding?? GORGEOUS. I loved the vibrant settings across the Nine Kingdoms, and the Omega/Alpha/Beta structure was so well done—this was my first omegaverse book and now I get why people are obsessed.

And that epilogue?? I was gasping. Screaming. Needing book two immediately. 😭

If you love a fierce heroine, forbidden desire, slow-building passion, power plays, and a why-choose romance that doesn’t skimp on heart, you NEED this in your life.

We start our story with our Princess having to make a choice on who she is to marry. Her family needs her to fulfill her duty so they can have a Sunborn Alpha or a Moonfire Omega (this is a chance when an Alpha and Omega have the said caste's as a child) which is a blessing on their kingdom. They need more Alpha's to help hold their kingdom as they only have 1 in the line. Her father has held a tourney and invited Alpha's to compete for her hand, but she still gets to choose who. Not long into the story we meet 2 Alpha's eating some seafood who the golden brother decides they are going to enter the tournament, even after their father declined the invitation. These two Alpha's look nothing like the royalty they are, being unkempt and bedraggled after being on the road and sea and they of course have Prince Kaelenendrin to thank for gaining entrance flashing his Sunborn tattoo. His older brother Prince Alarik and Kaelen enter the tournament and also happen to win as a tie which is only fitting for these two. The Princess' brother's have some things to say, that Rei hasn't been told of just yet but it's all wrapped in secrets until the night of the dance. The Princess and the Prince's dance, and she has her time with her childhood friend a Beta Castiel as well before her brother drops a heavy dose of information on her. The Prince's aren't just a single choice, they are a package deal. The Pact. In her fear of being torn from any form of freedom and locked into a cage as she has been made to believe with being a late blooming Omega she takes her chance and falls into Castiel's pretty words. She runs off with the man she loves, leaves the two Prince's behind and a kingdom who isn't yet aware their Princess is gone.

Follow her journey on self-discovery, love, what it means to not be consumed by instincts in a world with a A/B/O Caste System, consent Kings, and some Spice that also gives you plenty of moments to swoon! I absolutely loved Kaelen and Alarik. They are the exact opposite's of each other and Rei gives them every reason to believe that one does not outshine the other.

This book is so wonderfully well written, and the descriptions are easy to imagine everything when you have a mind that can envision what is on paper. The descriptions don't feel like info dumping, it felt doled out in perfect proportions to where it was the info needed and not to much or little. It also didn't bog the story down at all and I just love when everything flows so smoothly. I cannot get over how amazing this book is. It's going to be on my shelf as this is definitely a book I won't ever be forgetting and I'm going to be reading anything else she puts out. I cannot wait for more from this universe. Thank you so much to the author Enola M Douglad for the amazing opportunity to read this as an eARC and to let me drop into her DMs and just give her all the opinions that I needed to share during the journey with Rei and her two Prince's. This book is worth picking up.

Don't like Omegaverse because you feel like there is to much loss of consent? This book isn't that. We have CONSENT KINGS. We have 2 Alpha Males that do not do anything without her permission and who don't take away her freedom but give her all the choices and control.

Don't like knotting? This book doesn't have that. This isn't so much as a pack based book as the utilization as another gender caste. It's Omegaverse with some new views and with that there isn't any knotting.

Take the leap and dive in to join their journey and fall in love with an amazing cast of characters! It is available on KU for those that are unsure of purchasing a hardcopy..... but I don't think you'll regret it if you do.
