check trigger warnings please bcs this book was such a trip. It's insightful in the way bcs its coming from personal experiences but still so disturbing and hard to read especially because of all the triggers. Was as frustrating as it was disturbing and i hope every abuser gets what they deserve

The way the author constantly brings forth the age difference to remind you how wrong the relationship is in order to bring the reader back into the truth instead of Vanessa’s reality twisted me up several times. Much like reading Frankenstein, it was hard to escape Vanessa’s perspective of Strane to see him for what he was. Truly captivating and well written.

This book is written well and I understand the importance of it, but I felt physically Ill after the scene where Vanessa stays the night with Mr Strane.

I thought this was a solid read, and it was definitely upsetting, which I think was the point. It moved a little slowly for me and perhaps was a bit wordy. But I think it does really give the reader a good examination of like what warning signs we can look out for to protect young people.
