The title of this installment was very fitting. From the first half of the book, there was peace of you don’t take into account Darius’ deal and Orion’s power shaming. Elysian mates were revealed! Two weddings happened! And a polyamorous relationship came into the fold with some really good spicy scenes!

But then it all went down hill from there. A murderer was revealed and deep down I always knew who it was. Then there were Lionel chapters… Boy oh boy. It was a mess!

Did I mention the absolute gut wrenching, explosive ending? Jesus, take the wheel! I cried and had to take emotional breaks. This series has me in emotional turmoil. I gotta take a break. The deaths! Ahh!

I will say Geraldine made a playful mention about some Pool of Anu for immortality and I’m hoping that will save the day somehow but that could be me just wishing on a hope and a prayer lol.

Well they just keep on doing it book after book I'm still hooked. This book was hilarious at times heartwarming and completely devastating I really can't believe they ended it the way they did 😢 💔 😔

This book ruined me! I’m so glad I’m reading after all the books are out. TBH I’m cried out and the authors are obviously sadists because WTF!!?!?

On to book 8 I go…..

I’m not okay. I don’t even know how to review this book. I have been completely invested in the series. But seeing the reactions of other people who finish this book way before me, I hesitated for months to finish this book. Part of me was hoping people were exaggerating, the other part of me felt like they were probably being honest with their heartbreaking emotion over the ending of this book. It’s a long book as these authors love to give us. The last chapter was the most heart racing moment in the series that I’ve ever read. I feel like the authors put every single main characters lives in a chokehold. There are moments where I cried. There are so many uncertainties with characters and relationships. I have no idea how the next book is going to mend everything together because this book left everything so broken and bruised.
This isn’t really a review. This is more of what a mindfuck these authors left the readers in.
I don’t even have any words. No one is safe right now in this book. And it left off just really sad.

There are of course moments where there’s humor. Geraldine is the funniest character I have ever met in my entire life. She brings so much light into a book that is full of darkness and heavy drama. I thank her for that.
Same with Xavier.
