Od svih knjiga, slikovnica i stripova o ženama ova mi je daleko najbolja.
Vraćam joj se redovno u knjižnici, a ponekad imam osjećaj da ju i zadržavam za sebe te da bih si ju trebala nabaviti.

This is one to own.

This is a gorgeously packaged book, and tells stories of all kinds of women -- from all periods of time, from all walks of life. Those who accomplished major things and those who were just able to stick up for themselves. Penelope's art style is perfect for this kind of book...there are all sorts of hilarious little winks and asides in the panels, so fans of Penelope's other work or Kate Beaton will love this. I found myself constantly looking up the women featured in this book to learn more about them, which is always a good sign! There were several I found especially interesting: Nzinga, Las mariposas, Annette Kellerman, Delia Akeleey, Leymah Gbowee, Giorgina Reid, Wu Zeitan, Sonita Alizadeh, Betty Davis, Katia Krafft, Naziq al-Abid, and Frances Glesner Lee. I also learned new things about those I THOUGHT I was familiar with, like Mae Jemison, Nellie Bly, Hedy Lamarr, and Temple Grandin. There were a few errors and inconsistencies in the writing (dates were off, some wording lost in translation) but this is such a fun and inspiring book, you really don't notice much. Definitely recommend this one for people who love stories of women who have been forgotten or whose legacies have been marred or lost through time.

An eclectic collection of quick comic-style bios of women from around the world, through the ages, and in a variety of fields. The artwork is fantastic and the stories (mostly) inspiring. Nothing graphic, but the sexual lives of the women are pertinent to their stories, so not a book I'd hand off to the youngest readers.

This graphic novel showcases a variety of strong, brazen women. What I love about it is that these are lesser well known women, and in fact I was not previously familiar with most of them. The bios are short--between 4-8 pages. I loved it.

Absolutely brilliant!

I love Penelope Bagieu’s art and this is a lovely selection of Brazen women.
