I ♥ Roald Dahl.

This book is not as eccentric as some of Dahl's other books, which was a nice change. It was a pleasant read, but was not one I would oppose or promote strongly.

"Danny's dad had a secret, but now the secret's out and it's going to lead Danny on the adventure of a lifetime." (From Amazon)
Not my favourite Dahl book but a good adventure.

I grew up having only two Ronald Dahl books; Matilda and Danny the Champion of the World.
I remember reading this book almost everyday as a child, much more than Matilda.
I think my younger self could relate to Danny in many ways and so this book hits home.

A wonderful and sweet story of the love between father and son and their triumph over an overbearing bully.
Recommended for both children and adults.

I first read Danny Champion of the World as a child and remember it as one of my favourite Roald Dahl books. I revisited the book over the festive period and happily it invoked that familiar feeling I was looking for. The 'click clicking' of Danny's fathers' plaster cast, the cozy caravan, and soaking of the raisins are all comfortingly familiar and I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting Danny and his fathers' story.
