The first Roald Dahl book I picked up. My favourite of all his works. It's subtle yet rich. Can't really put it in words.

I think this might be the only Roald Dahl book I didn't read as a kid? I know I started it but didn't finish- just one of many bad decisions I made as a kid. (To be fair, the Bechdel Test ran strong in me even before I had the name to describe what it was.) Anywaaayy, this is adorable and features Clever Revenge, which I always enjoy. I also love the relationship between Danny & his father.

I accidentally stole this from a friend when I borrowed it from her at the iftar party she had directly before moving to England. Stolen books tend to be the most fun to read.

I remember loving this author in school but this was…interesting.

Good stuff! C loved it. :)
