I enjoyed this book so much! The language was gorgeous, and the weaving in and out of the different narratives both in France and in Senegal was both mesmerizing and heartbreaking. I felt so attached to the various characters and I just wanted happiness for all of them. The pages and pages of descriptions of football matches lost me at moments, but overall, the picture the book painted of these two places and the emotions and hopes of those that live between them had me hooked.
