I don’t know what I was expecting but it was not whatever this is. To me poetry is something else and I really think I just lost 30 minutes of my life reading it

This poetry collection is a deep well of emotions spilled onto page. Take it in parts and be sure to re-read - so much is packed into every line, every phrase.

Seeking salvation after this gorgeously heavy collection of poems filled with self-discovery and internal growth. I’m worshiping Akwaeke Emezi after this read, and yearning for the warmth of Spring and the subtle joys it unleashes.
Notating poetry collections for me usually involves me starring the poems that affect me the most emotionally and sonically. I honestly almost starred every poem, and their last lines of each poem were stunning.
Here’s to finding deeper meaning inside rather than around.
