Enjoyed the addition of Cheryl to the series although wasn't keen on the private school bitchiness

I put off reading this for some reason and then I realized that volume 4 is already out and I should probably catch up! While I enjoyed this volume...it wasn't my favourite? I just couldn't get into the whole Veronica/Cheryl rivalry and I also wasn't that into the Archie feeling sorry for himself storyline. This volume was a little weak for me unfortunately. This does not mean I won'tr be continuing with the series though. Archie has been a part of my life since I was a kid and I won't be giving up on him just yet! I hope to pick up the fourth volume very soon! :)

Cheryl always causes some great drama. Looking forward to the next volume.

This was disappointing.
I understand that we have to deal with the aftermath of the last volume that separated the gang but this is so far form what drew me to the series in the first place. It's the same writer (with help from Lori Matsumoto for Veronica's parts) but the artist has changed drastically. I know Staples hasn't been back since volume one but Fish attempted something closer to Staples' art. Eisma just seems so different and it took me out of the book. Veronica and some of the other female characters look so angry and harsh. The storyline is boring to me. Worst of all: where the hell is Betty?
She was my favorite character from the first issue and she was barely in two panels in this book. I miss her! Instead of getting equal time for Veronica, Archie AND Betty, I get Veronica, Archie and Cheryl, who I don't care about. The vignettes in this book seem even shorter than usual. I liked watching Veronica grow as a person in volume one but they had to regress her a bit for this storyline.
The bit with Archie wanting to be more like Jughead was okay but not super intriguing. Archie's charm seemed a little off in this one, as well. The bit with Sayid went absolutely nowhere. I miss what this series was.

FINALLY CHERYL IS INVOLVED WITH THIS SERIES.
Like, I didn’t think I asked for much. I just needed Cheryl to be a part of my life. And her brother is a part of it too, which is a plus because he just feeds her crazy.
Cheryl is at the boarding school that Veronica is forced to go to. Archie and Jughead flip roles and deal with the loss of Veronica.
Honestly, Veronica and Archie are low-key unhealthy.. but I guess that’s just my logic?
---
I love Cheryl. Does that mean I don't have a heart because I need that confirmed.

Not my favorite installment in this graphic novel series. The illustration style of this volume has been my least favorite out of the 3 I've read so far, and the introduction of new characters felt rushed and unnecessary, which I also felt that way about certain plots that came up during this volume. Aside from those things, it was still enjoyable and fun to read and I do plan on continuing with this story in hopes that it improves.

I too love murder, but Riverdale would be 10000x better if it just adapted these books and left everyone fun and soapy and light AND NO MURDER.
