I didn't really enjoy the unsatisfying will they or won't they vibes. It seems like it will span the whole series. The two main characters hating each other after every positive or sexy encounter gets very old after a while. I couldn't get into the world building or magic of this world either.

I’m tired of wishy-washy female characters who recoil from being horny and not as well as romances based on an enemies-to-lovers with no chemistry and loathing other than petty fights like teenagers with mis- and zero communication. Just talk! The book also had literally no plot, everything felt like filler. One last thing was I read this to support a SEAsian author and read a SEA fantasy, but the beginning starts in a winter snowstorm?? It’s the tropics in Southeast Asia, folks, if you didn’t know.

This was fun! The world building was creative and characters were fun. Some parts of the plot were very predictable, and knowing it started as a Kylo/Rey Star Wars fanfic was the only reason the ending made sense to me. But I enjoyed the read.
