Meh? Don't get me wrong, the artwork is beautiful and I love the set up of this story but it feels like it's all setup with little payoff. It feels like a 2-hr pilot for a tv series, you know? Still, I am curious enough to pick up the next comics in the series.

The externals is surprisingly hollow given Gaiman’s involvement. The art seems inspired by Kirby and is playful but, as has been noted, relatively blocky and lifeless.
The story is intriguing, but jumps to conclusions relatively quickly providing little time to develop character and theme.
Good not great.

Neil Gaiman's Eternals had a very interesting concept and features some incredible art work from John Romita Jr. but I felt a little disappointed by the anti-climactic ending. Maybe Sandman has ruined me for other comics for a while!
