I'm... blown away — jaw is on the floor and I refuse to pick it up. I definitely wasn't expecting to enjoy this as much as I did, but WOW. Certain things were a bit predictable (which I like to reiterate that I don't find that to be a bad thing), but overall this was a very original idea in my personal opinion, and the entire world that was created by the author for this is just dark and magical.

I love this concept and the plot. I love the suspense and every moment I spent on the edge of my seat. Excuse me as I go pick up Book 2.

Read this basically in a day. How do I describe this book…..  it’s got a magic deck of cards that is spread among the people. A sickness that infects people with magic, but they’re killed if they have that infection/magic…. There’s a dark broody guy and a lot of rhyming verse. Great book!
