Best Plum book in a few years! So many laughs in this book, definitely one to read more than once! All I can say is I need a bucket list.
I really do not mind the back and forth between Morelli and Ranger. It is what it is. I don't mind there not being conclusions. What is getting old is the complete lack of advancement of the series. Every book is the same without anything major happening. I don't mean death but something! Stephanie buys a house. Stephanie accidentally gets knocked up. Lula finds a new job. Something!
This book reminded me why I love this series so much. It had all the hallmarks of a good Steph Plum mystery: crazy FTAs, lots of Lula and Grandma, a scary psycho out to kill Steph, lots of junk food, a love triangle, and a multiple mysteries at once. I love how easy and enjoyable these books are to read. My favorite part of this series are the crazy, laugh out loud characters. I didn't even guess the "mystery". I hope this series continues this way.
This one was fine. Standard Stephanie Plum fare, if a bit bland. It lacked a lot of the Stephanie-Morelli-Ranger tension that usually keeps me coming back for more.
I'm reading this as pure escapist nonsense. Predictable but just the brain candy I needed
