This one was better. I really didn't hate myself after reading as I have in the past few where I told myself - never again would I waste my time.
So, why did I change my mind and read this one? It was available at the library and I wanted something light.
The standard comic buffoon stuff was more about the other characters and Stephanie actually seemed to do some thinking. She was more in control. Unfortunately, Evanovich still wants her to be hapless and needing to be saved. I still think the series can be humorous AND Stephanie can be smart, sexy and more powerful.

One of the better Stephanie Plum books I have read in a while.
Honestly, I thought this was the strongest book in the series for quite a while now. It had a real plot, not just one slap-stick situation after another, but didn't forget the comedy either.
Fun read. Better than the last few, but not nearly as good as the first few.
More good fun, but not quite the tension of some other books in the series.
Best one in a while IMO. Enjoyed it tremendously. Couldn't really have asked for more. Plum is family for me so it is so easy to just chill and enjoy.
The story was fine, the best part was the chihuahuas, but the narrator was terrible. The voices of the characters were inconsistent, and the voices of Lula and Ranger were so awful that they bordered offensive. I should have just read it.
I still enjoy this series but find it more predictable as the series goes on.
Wow, this is the twenty-first book in the Stephanie Plum series – a pretty staggering number.
The plot for this one felt a little more serious than some of Plum’s previous adventures, and I quite liked that. I always enjoy Steph working with Ranger as well, he’s an interesting character.
Not much happened as far as any resolution to Steph’s love life – lusting for Ranger, sleeping with Joe.
The usual cast of characters, this one felt a little less madcap, but still had plenty of accidents, explosions and takedown mishaps. All in all a good enjoyable, quick light read.
