Wow, this is the twenty-first book in the Stephanie Plum series – a pretty staggering number.
The plot for this one felt a little more serious than some of Plum’s previous adventures, and I quite liked that. I always enjoy Steph working with Ranger as well, he’s an interesting character.
Not much happened as far as any resolution to Steph’s love life – lusting for Ranger, sleeping with Joe.
The usual cast of characters, this one felt a little less madcap, but still had plenty of accidents, explosions and takedown mishaps. All in all a good enjoyable, quick light read.

3 1/2 stars. I found this Stephanie Plum novel a little more entertaining than the last in the series. Maybe it was because her writing seemed a little more fresh, or maybe it was because it involved a little less of Lulu and Grandma Mauzer. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both those characters but it feels like Evanovich has leaned heavily on them in the last couple of books from the series.
This edition features a villainous Russian from Ranger's past, Briggs, and a pack of Chihuahuas. It's as laugh out loud funny as the others even if the ending felt a little abrupt.
I love this series. Stephanie is entertaining, and an easy read. Makes me smile every time I read one of this series books. Thanks Janet, you never disappoint!
It's so wonderful that Evanovich came up with the idea to have Ranger only say "Babe" and it mean so many different things. It saves her the trouble of having to come up with any actual real dialogue.
Yet another chronicle in the life of bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. If you are looking for something new and different this isn't that, but it is still entertaining and and very funny. Stephanie teams up with Ranger to deal with some Russian problems but then also has things to worry about at home with her current FTA and then Briggs also. I felt as though there wasn't a real big ending for this one, everything was summed up but there was no super exciting twist at the end, I found myself expecting more. That being said, I did still enjoy reading this. It was light and fun and perfect for a summer read.
This series was really good ... Once upon a time.
I mean honestly, the first dew books were fun and easy and just hilarious and entertaining and just.. Great. They really where!
But that stopped quite a while ago and now it is not even rep repetitive anymore but just completely overdone. I mean you can only blow up, set fire, shoot and and try to kidnap and kill a person so many times before even that person herself has enough of that stuff! And evanovich reached the point of more then enough about 10 books ago with those topics.
The only changes in every book is how much ranger and morrelli moments are included. This book had a lot of ranger and a lot of morrelli so that was kinda new.
What I don't understand is that every book makes it very clear that evanovich clearly is in favor of morrelli and steph to end up together so I don't understand why she tries to bring ranger in romantically anymore since he clearly is no longer in the running.
All in All?
Sorry but this is a book not worth reading and i really reall wish I could just stop reading series when they go on my nervers and I could just stop with this and be done with it since there seem to be no ending anywhere near, sadly.
If you are interested in this series? Great, read the fewest few books and just stop when you start to notice it gets to bit repetitive. It will only get worse from that point on and sadly doesn't seem to be able to catch itself and get better again. Let's all hope that 23 is the last book in this series and evanovich moves in to a new series, shall we?

I got so excited last book when I thought the books were moving past being the exact same self-replica. Turns out, that was just laying out a new formula. At least we get some character development this time?
Like many others have said the books are starting to sound the same. Disappointing that there has been no character development throughout the series. I still laugh out loud at times, so I will continue with the next book.
