This book was a light easy read. But I just couldn't get past the writing. I know it's supposed to be told from the point of view of a 16 year old drama queen, but the constant unnecessary side talk with her self got really old really quick. I can't tell you 'technically' what's wrong with it, but I guess it's just not my preferred witting/reading style.

Because of it's mild nature I would recommend it to some of my younger nieces. I think they could read this and really like it with out their parents getting worried about the content. There's a few make out scenes and innuendos of sexual topics but no graphic details, lewd language, or cursing.

The story was interesting and mildly entertaining, But highly predictable.

I recommend this book if you need something you can read Burr only 1/2 pay attention to and still understand what's going on.

I might buy the next one in the Blood Coven series ”Stake That”. But only if it's on sale ( $0.99 or lower) and i've run out of other choices.

This book was simply OK. The characters were somewhat relatable, but not completely. Especially Magnus since he's like a sentry old. He still talks of a different time period sometimes and it seems weird compared to the narrator's voice.

There was enough going on to keep me interested but not enough that made me love it. It just seemed like a simple read, and that's exactly what it was.

Will be reading the next though - I already have it from the library so why not?

At first I was quite curious about the book and the book hasn't disappointed me.
The story is not really that new but to add some new stuff in an usually vampire love story is an nice idea.
For me I could laugh sometimes and sometimes I thought 'ok lame joke'....
But quite funny book!
To say a negative point which is really disturbing me, is that I think the book lacks a bit in reality.
Ok, its an fantasy but thats not what I doubt, its more that Sunny is 16, but in some love scene it feels like she is 24 or so.
Myself is a bit older than 16 so I can remember quite well how I was with 16 and to be honest in some scenes she was too mature. But in other parts of the books she was a bit too immature.
So I lost as a reader bit the feeling how her personality is. But just my point of view!
That's what I find a bit disturbing.
The end of the book...*sigh* I don't like the ending, because after several books the reader will have the same problem again....VAMPIRE YES or NO ?
For my taste I just hate to delay a problem... because after some books I think: ' right why I have read the other books if this one book would have been enought?'
So I hope the other books don't let me feel the feeling that I wasted my time.
BUT I gave full stars, because I like the story and the book is really after a long time a fantasy book where I thought woow want to read more!

Fun, but forgettable. Also, the sister didn't have a leg to stand on. She had no right to be angry.

Este libro me saca muchas carcajadas. Es la segunda vez que lo leo y sigue en cantando me. Seguiré con los siguientes en algún momento. Pero espero hacerlo pronto y terminar con la saga lo mas rápido posible.

Very immature but entertaining none the less. It leans heavily on and refers to often Whedon's work which is part of the fun appeal of it for me. If you want something entertaining and quick to read this is it. The plot is fairly predictable and there's nothing exciting about this. That being said, I'm reading the second one already because it IS entertaining.

Boys that Bite the first novel in the Blood Coven Vampires series by Mari Mancusi is a great book for teen vampire lovers. The book follows Sunny who gets turned into a vampire mistakenly (the vampire meant to turn her twin sister Rayne). Magnus, the sexy vampire that bit her pledges to help her turn back. While waiting for answers Sunny deals with the symptoms of turning into a vampire (vampire attraction and her hunger for blood) and gets to know Magnus better.

This is a great book that doesn't take itself seriously. It takes jabs at everything from Buffy The Vampire Slayer to Indiana Jones. It has a nice romance and is a really quick read.

Appropriateness: This is a novel that's appropriate for the entire young adult audience (although it would appeal to the middle school audience more). There is no sex or drugs or violence.. Sunny drinks "wine" (although it's really blood) and she lies to her mother and sneaks out of the country. There is quite a bit of kissing which might turn off very young readers. The lexile for this book is 740 putting it at a mid fourth grade level.
