I truly do not have words except I am BEAMING. Poppy and Alex are so perfect for one another. I cried on multiple occasions while reading this just because of how much I loved them together. I think friends to lovers might be my new favorite trope because of how freaking COMPATIBLE it makes people.

I loved the premise of the book, two best friends traveling every summer and having the time of their life! Some chapters gave me such an intense feeling of “fernweh” reading about Vail, Tuscany and Sanibel Island. I lived the dynamic between Alex and Poppy and their respective backstories. They both had completely different lives at opposite ends of the same town, they both suffered hardship and had contrasting reactions to it that against all odds brought them closer.
I only wish that the chapter about Croatia was longer. Things happened so quickly, there was no time to process and wallow in the emotions that were triggered.
Another thing that Emily Henry does is introduce a fun best girl friend to the protagonist but only make her appear as an extra which to me is a little disappointing at times but looking at the bigger picture it absolutely makes sense to have a supporting character that does not take away from the protagonist’s experiences.
Once again I loved the book!
