The EmHen book I was putting off for so long because it’s so many people’s least favorite🙈 but I really enjoyed it. I feel like I actually laughed the most in this one and found Poppy and Alex charming (maybe because I am insufferable with my partner and our inside jokes). I will say that while I enjoyed this one I can see why others might not because miscommunication is a big part of the friction in this story, but felt very real. For me, EmHen never misses and I haven’t read a book I didn’t love from her.

I give this 4.5 stars. This was an amazing book! I truly love the characters and the (very long and drawn out) story about them, their past and present. The anticipation drove me insane at points, but that just made me not be able to put the book down. The overall idea behind this book speaks to me and as Emily Henry says in her Reader’s Guide for this book… “it’s less about the places we go than the people we meet along the way. But most of all, it’s about the ones who stay, who become home.”

I have to admit, of the Emily Henry book I have read, this is definitely not my favorite. The last 50is pages did win me over some, and I was enticed by the way things were going up in flames.
