Would you go on an all-expenses-paid trip around the world with a random contact from your phone? This is what happens to Dylan, an aspiring writer, when she wins a radio contest. Her random match is Jack, a man she met in a club months earlier, but then didn't contact. As they travel the world, they start with a frosty relationship, but slowly learn to trust each other. They bond over their difficulties with their parents, their jobs, and the paths they wish they could take.
As they travel together and share experiences, they start to fall for each other.
A sweet romance with a quite steamy love scene!

Wanderlust is a romantic comedy that follows two people looking for a break from their everyday lives. Our FMC, Dylan, here's a radio contest giving a prize of a 6-week fully funded vacation around the world, but the only catch is they get to pick someone random out of your phone to travel with you. Of course, the person they choose from her phone is Jack, a guy she made out with and then ghosted. Firstly, the banter between the two main characters had me laughing out loud in every chapter. One problem that never got resolved is we never find out why Jack hated Dylan, was it cause she ghosted him? This is where a dual POV throughout would have enhanced the story. Also, in this vein, Jack's character is boring and lacks depth. This led to a lack of chemistry between the characters, and for a romance, this was a big problem for me. I will say this book talks about some heavy topics ( Abortion, climate changeā€¦ ) in a very realistic way that flows with the plot. I wish the characters were more developed and had a better connection.

Thank you to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons for a digital ARC of this book in exchange for a review.

Bored with her job as a magazine writer, Dylan enters a radio contest on a whim. She's shocked when she wins a six-week trip with Jack, a virtual stranger. She hopes that writing about their adventure for the magazine will lead to her own column. But how will she manage to endure tight quarters with a sullen man who's her complete opposite?

This book is more women's fiction than romance, with the focus on Dylan's job more than on her relationship with Jack. We don't get Jack's point of view at all in this book, so he can be difficult to understand for much of the book. I found him fascinating, so I was sorry we didn't get more of a window into his character.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Cute, travel-themed, slow burn romance.
