I love Jem and it was wonderful seeing this scene from his perspective!
Merged review:
One of the things I love most about Cassandra Clare is how well each book is written. They are always so action packed, there is seriously never a dull moment. Clockwork Prince did not disappoint at all. There is so much action, betrayal, suspense and those oh, so wonderful swoon worthy moments. A lot is revealed in this book. We finally find out why Will is the way that he is and you finally learn what happened with Camille and Magnus Bane. And on the subject of Magnus Bane, is it possible to love him even more. He is so amazing in this series and definitely one of my favorite characters.
Now, for the love triangle. I think it worked really well with this series. I love both Will and Jem. Both men are wonderful and I can picture Tessa with either one of them. I loved being able to see Tessa bring out different things in each guy. And there were some completely wonderful, but heartbreaking moments. But, when it's all said and done, I think I am ultimately Team Will! Don't hate me for that.
The end did leave you on a bit of a cliffhanger and I am so glad that I have the third book in my possession. I would go absolutely crazy trying to wait for it. If you are a fan of the TMI series or enjoyed Clockwork Angel, you will love this!!

Clockwork Prince is another highly entertaining entry to this series. The plot is clear from the beginning with a two-week deadline and the fate of all that is good on the line. Throw in the love triangle, the battle sequences, some fun magical drugs and side markets, some backstories and big announcements, some familial betrayal and reveals and bam, you get book two of The Infernal Devices. It marches at a steady pace with drips of information as we go and a well juggling of multiple plot threads. Henry is still my favorite character. He gets no page time which is a shame, but he steals every scene for me. I have some questions about demon pox and how that could play into Tessa's potential blood line, but we shall see how it shakes out in book three. Oh, and Will's sister Cecily is going to be way cooler than Will in Clockwork Princess, at least that is my prediction. Not a high bar admittedly. The aesthetics and world building are still the best part but I think Clare weaves a complex story line that could get easily muddled yet doesn't. It is always clear what is going on and where we are going.
Despite my feelings about the previous book, I kind of felt that I just needed to finish the series. It was still kind of boring but the climax was good, I can't complain about that. The fact that also gets me is with the love triangle. I mean seriously? When will YA books stop having them? And then, to make matters worse, the girl feels 'utterly hopeless' and really does nothing. So annoying! I still think I'm going to read the last one, just to see if they finally catch the Magister, and what the solution to the love triangle is.
Re-read before the Chain of Gold comes out or basically until I get my copy anyway. Which might take way longer than I would like.
Anyway, I absolutely enjoyed this book, if Clockwork Angel re-read got me annoyed couple of times or Tessa annoyed me with her "women shouldn't be doing this and that" which obviously is accurate for the time period but I got annoyed nevertheless. But with this one I never really had any of those moments. I really, really, really love Will Herondale, alright. Basically everyone if I must add.
Henry and Charlotte are too cute and I would die for them.
Sophie and Gideon owns my heart because both of them are pure as fuck.
Gabriel occasionally breaks my heart because he is not seeing the way yet.
Will broke my heart with the desperation of getting the curse broken and being able to tell Tessa he loves her until he got his heart broken yet again but this time not by himself.
Jem is just literally pain in my soul.
I will be honest, Tessa isn't my favourite Shadowhunter Chronicles lady. I love any other way more than her, which says a lot because I lately don't like Clary either. Give me the secondary female characters.

NOW THIS IS ANGST. i dont even care how ridiculous that may sound to some people. i felt this book in my soul. the characters UGH. i love them and now im so invested i feel like i could explode with nerves about what’s going to happen to them. the emotions i felt had me putting the book down to clench every muscle in my body and silent scream into my fist. any reader can tell you there is no better feeling.
Have you ever read a books that was a pure entertainment and you couldn't tear yourself away from it? In not, Clockwork Prince is waiting for you. The best part of this book was the love triangle between the three main characters. I can't wait to read Clockwork Princess!!
