Este también se me hizo algo lento, pero no llegó al nivel de aquella parte del primero. La historia y secretos muy bien, como siempre. Empiezan a averiguarse cosas y se deja abierto para que ocurra el conflicto.
I adore Cassandra Clare's work. She is an amazing author who never fails to amaze me with her works. Her Mortal Instruments series is one of my favorites but she has surpassed all of her previous works with Clockwork Prince
The story of Tessa, Jem and Will continues in the second installment of The Infernal Devices. The betrayal and heartbreak reach an all time high as Will tries to keep his sanity and protect those he loves from the immediate dangers from the Magister but most of all from himself.
His struggles to hide his pain come through the pages and made me ache for him. Will is no the crass and sarcastic boy that everyone believes him to be but a hurting and lost boy who just wants his pain to be over.
Jem's love for Tessa shines through and I love how kind and sincere he is. But Jem shows a tougher side in this book that opens up his character so much more and shows the true depths of what he will do for those he loves.
Poor Tessa is more confused now that she has ever been. Torn between the two boys she loves and would do anything for, she finds herself at a crossroads when it comes to Jem and Will.
Clockwork Prince was extraordinary. Cassandra's stories keep getting better and better. The cliffhanger at the end had me shocked and enticed and I am eagerly awaiting the next book.
Love, betrayal, loss and friendship come together to make Clockwork Prince the best book that Clare has written yet.

okay i fear i understand the hype around these books…….. best friend had me pick up the series and this fucking book had me nearly screaming and crying at several parts. scared and horrified for book #3.
Great second book. Though those with an aversion to love triangles be warned there is one, however it’s not a main component of the book.
everyone: the infernal devices is the best. even if you don't like shadowhunters you'll love clockwork prince
me: so what i'm hearing is, now that this was meh for me, i can confirm i will never like cassie clare books.
anyway. will herondale is just another noah shaw 2012 YA fantasy he's-an-asshole-but-he's-damaged love interest, but y'all aren't ready for that conversation.
but in spite of the fact that this apparently took me a week to get through when i read it in 2015, this was fine.
(this is part of a series i'm doing in which i review books i read a long time ago, in order to clog your update feed and confuse us all.)

Yet again Cassandra Clare weaves a web of characters that you could swear really existed. You cheer for them, get exasperated with them and can't wait to see what will happen next. I constantly had to keep reminding myself that the story is not real. That is what a great book does right? It draws you in and makes you feel. While the story is a fantasy the emotions of the characters are very real. I can't wait for the last installment.
I don't really have anything new to say about this book. It was phenomenal, probably the most in-depth absorbing book Clare has written yet. For those of you who read Clockwork Angel and were just feeling kind of "ehhhhh" about it. This book really opens up the plotline. The characters seemed so real and relatable. I think this book will really convince those of you who though Clockwork Angel was so-so that this really is an amazing story. I was engaged throughout the entire book without any slow or dull parts to make me want to put it down. If I wasn't in class or eating I was devouring this book. No time for sleep because I practically inhaled it in less than 12 hours.
Personally, I had my doubts about this new series of Clare's. I thought, "this is going to be the Mortal Instruments just 2 centuries earlier". But it really isn't. Yes some of the characters are the same but the new ones possess qualities that are entirely their own. Tessa is her own heroine. While she and Clary possess similiar qualities you can just tell by reading this book that Tessa is someone who does things differently than how Clary would. I applaud Clare on her ability to create a completely different story with so many intertwining side stories and still have time to include them all in Clockwork Prince. Definitely a must read book in this series and if you are by chance stumbling upon this review because you are thinking about starting the Infernal Devices but are not sure. Do it. It may take away 12 hours of your time from studying (finals are coming up!) but it is totally and 100% worth it.
