Wow

4.5 ⭐️ WOW. I read this in 3 days can you tell I loved it

I’m going to actually cry.
This book means so much to me. For me to deconstruct it I’d have to explain a lot , so I will.
I’ve always felt that Aled was underapreciated in Heartstopper but then I found out that Radio silence existed so I obviously starting reading it a couple days ago and I just finished it. I can’t begin to describe how much I love this it means so much the amount of diversity and relationships from love to February Friday and the letters it felt so real and it made me cry when February never knew this was a cry for help to Aled and its just so sad it’s so amazing and so sad.
I wish there were more books like this and I think I’m going to actually combust and just yeah. I don’t care who you are , everyone should read this book. Read it.

Where do I start with this one? I feel like I’m always giving Alice Oseman’s books 5/5, but I do just love her writing style so much. She has a way of writing such realistic characters and dynamics between characters that is so wonderfully beautiful I can’t quite put it into words. Every one of her books seems to come at the perfect time in my life for me. I read the Heartstopper series when I needed some light hearted happiness with the constant presence of queer representation that I’m so glad is in her works. I read Loveless and learned so much about myself in doing so. Solitaire was another amazing story that gave me all the feels, and now we have Radio Silence. I like that this clearly takes place in the Heartstopper universe, we have references to Higgs school and Truham and the characters from that series are mentioned, events from other books mentioned, but not focused on. It sort of gave the book some pre-made world building for me, but isn’t really required knowledge before reading the book. I love the character of Frances, and relate to her very much. Being academic and feeling like you have to pursue the common path because of that is basically the story of my life right now. And I loved learning so much about Aled’s character. His story with Carys/February reminds me of Alice’s unique ability to write characters that have such deep and meaningful connections that aren’t romantic, which means so much to me being ace. Of course I can’t leave out the dynamic between Frances and Aled, such a beautiful friendship that I felt so strongly. I also love how Alice writes such realistic teenagers. Wearing clothes decorated in our interests, engaging in fan culture and tumblr and fan art, it really contrasts the common teenage media of clean, fancy mini-adults, especially on tv. Anyway, lovely story that I of course fell in love with and look forward to reading again someday, as I will likely do with all Alice’s books!!!

I absolutely adored this book. Alice Oseman just gets it so perfectly. The more of her work I read the better she manages to encapsulate the apocalyptic feeling of being a teenager in a way that I’ve never encountered before

I really wish I’d found this book and her work when I was younger, but regardless I’m so happy to have it now
