You probably think Aled Last and I are going to fall in love or something. Since he is a boy and I am a girl. I just wanted to say- we don't. That's all.

I would rather just start quoting this book to convince you to read because there isn’t much to be said that isn’t already said in the book.

Academic expectations, societal pressure, tumultous friendships, teenage hormone– you get the gist. And it has a perfect ending.

Made me cry so i recommend.

Are you crying? Oh, wow, I sound like Wendy from Peter Pan.' His eyes blurred momentarily before looking at me again. 'Girl, why are you crying?

ok ok so 4 or 5 stars i guess ? i don’t even know
first of all, i‘m done with the osemanverse yay
and then i have to say I LOVED this and kinda wanna re read it immediately. Now my opinion is a litlle weird because Frances is literally me but also i kinda hate her. Her friendships and relationships and worries are so relatable though and she is a very realistic character who is well built. Aled and Carys/February are my faves, they both deserve the world. Raine and Daniel are also such sweet people and i liked them very much. The plot is never what amazes me most in Alices works but i have to say this may be my favourite. Some references like tumblr or the pink notebook that i have forgotten the name of got a little old but that’s fine.
Overall really recommend !!

I think Alice Oseman is just my absolute favorite author right now. I was nervous to read this. While still set in the Heartstopper timeline, I knew it featured none of those familiar characters other than Aled (although Nick, Charlie, and Tori are alluded to very briefly)... and Aled is my least favorite character. That has seriously changed. Similar to Solitaire, this is so, so much more than a "Heartstopper book."

This book was a beautiful look at teenage depression, identity, and search for belonging. The main characters truly create a "found family" by the end of the book. This is a book that I will pick up to read again, and again, and again.

A lovely mix of (mostly) wholesome relationships and hard-hitting subject matter. This ticked a lot of boxes, without feeling like it was trying to tick a lot of boxes. Pacing was great too.
