Amazing job with the English translation.

(unfortunately there isn't a Goodread entry with the English translation of the book, so I ended up here)

The story starts off in first person, and it doesn't mention the name of the character in first person until the end. That's gives one a feel as if he/she is in control. The fact that the protagonist in first person is shown as an introvert who loves book is the very fact that this story is made to be relatable with any book loving introvert; the author was very ingenious on her behalf in knowing her core audience.

In the end, it really is interesting how people "get along" :D

Never have I expected that this will be the one that would make me shed a tear, not just shed but I actually ugly cried at the end of this. I think everyone should give this a try, at least once, because it’s worthwhile and I highly recommend it. This left me in awe and broken at the same time, and I should’ve prepared myself for that rollercoaster ride.

This is a sad bittersweet romance between two high schoolers.

The male protagonist who goes unnamed until the end of the book finds a diary belonging to a popular girl in his class, Sakura... who happens to be dying. The only one to know apart from her family, the male character decides to spend time with her and to do the activities that she wants. Shy by nature, he doesn't really get why she's so open, sunny and loving life, but little by little her views make him think and consider a change.

I might have dropped a tear or two on the tube while I was reading it on my way back home, but it was totally worth it. We don't know how much time we have left to live, so every second counts.
