It's more a 3.5 stars review. It's a nice book. I personally enjoyed the stories and learned some interesting things. But it's literally just a diary. The activism side that was "promised" is barely touched on my perspective in this book.

so incredibly funny throughout but balanced with poignant moments that have revealed the horrors of being a junior doctor in a way that the tv show (which i absolutely adore, more for the drama of it rather than the educational aspect which the book exceptionally provides) cannot. i’ve lived vicariously through adam kay while i was reading it through the ways he describes each experience with such detail yet still manages to remain so funny. the ending was particularly heartbreaking and serves as a great finish to the book on a more serious note. also i love the format of the book and i think the diary entries made it more captivating and enjoyable!! honestly might love the book more than the show ibr

Funnily written, occasional dark humour and somewhat tough stories to hear. Overall an enjoyable quick read with easy diary-formatted structure. Not outstandingly hilarious as most make it out to be, but funny none the less.
