I feel like I'm going to hell for finding this one of the funniest books I've ever read.

I’ve always been on the fence regarding audiobooks, until listening to this book. To hear Adam Kay read his own stories, well and truly elevated this book for me. And I absolutely loved it.

A very powerful account of the pressures faced by the wonderful people who bravely choose to work in the NHS

One moment you’re laughing out loud, and a second later crying in sadness or cringing in horror. The stories are simply put together but you do very much feel that you’re getting a sneak peek in to the chaos and wonder of the NHS. The hilariously frank and witty account of the range of, sometimes outrageous, situations he finds himself in is nothing short of brilliant.

I couldn’t recommend this book more. What an absolute treat!

It is funny I guess.

as someone who is *extremely* squeamish about *everything* involving doctors/hospitals/blood/procedures/operations, i'm so surprised i made it through this book - but i simply couldn't put it down! this book is such incredibly essential reading and although you may *know* how overworked and underfunded the NHS is, it was truly eye-opening to read a collection of first hand accounts of daily life in the profession and to not only witness how emotionally and physically draining the job is and how much is expected of you from seniors and patients (or clients!) alike, but also how much it affects your personal life too.

this book is equally deeply profound as it is absolutely hilarious. one minute you're laughing out loud, and the next you're choked up and wiping your eyes. i must've looked so insane on my commute though - pained expression plastered onto my face, legs tensed, closing the book to take a deep breath before giggling to myself five seconds later... all to repeat this cycle again and again for 40 minutes.

A wonderful and awful (the good kind of awful) read. I'd love to read an Indian Doctor's perspective about doing this in India.

would have given this 4 and a half if i could have, everyone should read this book, so funny but sad at times

It was a good read, the format kept things engaging. Nothing groundbreaking but am glad I read it.
