This had all the trappings of being an awesome book for me to read. It was witty and I know several people who are doctors and who doesn’t love English stuff!?

And I WAS enjoying it.... sort of. The problem was that it was triggering some PTSD I’ve had around medical stuff that MAYBE I need to work with my therapist on.

Like when he talked about putting in IVs and I started crying while holding the spot on my arm where there is still a scar from the midline I had to get when I was going in every other day to get fluids for 12 weeks straight because I had such bad Hyperemesis with Asher that I could feel myself dying all alone in the dark in my room.

Good book. Not really good for me right now. You should go read it though.

Eye opening account of what junior doctors go through . Also very brave to share his strong opinions on matters , not sure it was the best way to go about things but it definitely made for an interesting read on Audible!

FANTASTIC! You don't need to be a medic or even in the industry to love this book - it's equal parts heartbreaking and funny throughout.

This was the second Adam Kay book i read in the last month and i have become such a huge fan of him.

Even though his books are filled with comedy, cant deny the fact that they are heartbreaking.
I’m eternally grateful for everyone working for the NHS.

This book is enlightening and an absolute pleasure to read. As a non-doctor coming from a family full of doctors (mother, father, two sisters), I appreciate learning more about their struggles, especially during training.
