i absolutely loved this. i plan to read it in print once i get a chance so i can appreciate it even more.

in particular, i would highly recommend it to anyone who liked “smoke gets in your eyes” by caitlin doughty and is interested in learning about the healthcare industry - i love that book as well and found this one to have a similar vibe (it’s hard to describe what a vibe exactly is, but both have this way of using macabre, dark humor to bring light to the realities of illness and death and how they have been turned into industries in our modern world, as well as how they are just people working jobs despite the emotional weight to what they are doing, as well as themes of coming to realize the career/industry isn’t what they imagined it would be)

Such a fantastic read, full of both humour and sadness. This book has given me an insight into how the NHS is struggling and the possible meaning behind the loss of some amazing Drs. Adam Kay has written it brilliantly and in a way that even a 'non medic' like myself can understand and emphasize with
