Adam Kay was a junior doctor for the NHS from 2004 to 2010 and this book is his diary entries throughout his training and discusses the patients who he treated ✨ I have a huge amount of respect for NHS staff. We often hear about how the NHS is stretched - long hours staff work and the huge amount of responsibilities they are under and how little they are paid for the work they do but this book really brought it all home. It is eye opening. Some entries were laugh out loud funny and yet some were so sad. This book is well written and I highly recommend this to anyone ✨

Rather cathartic to read as a new grad RN - non-medical/traumatic job having people will never understand what it’s like to constantly walk through people’s worst days or the mental toll when you’re part of or witness a catastrophic event. This book perfectly balanced the both funny and devastating reality of healthcare

This book is full of laughter, struggles and sadness but mainly the upmost truth about our NHS and the challenges it faces daily. Working within the NHS myself, I see some of these struggles but nothing to what most face daily. Really enjoyed this read and would highly recommend to others!
