Wow! A phenomenal read.
This book manages to combine utterly hilarious anecdotes of life as a Junior Dr with utter heartbreak at the realities of both human life and sheer desperation of overworked, underappreciated, overstretched staff in our NHS.
You laugh, you cry, you feel such anger and disbelief.
There are naturally aspects that are difficult reading, some opinions I didn't agree with but I'm not a doctor so that's how it goes, there's also an element of arrogance you encounter when reading memoirs of (particularly male) doctors but it is a gripping read.

Finished this in one sitting, could not put it down! Absolutely brilliant first hand view of working in an over stretched and understaffed NHS hospital. This book made me laugh out loud, and cry with sympathy, whilst educating me on some of the basic medical procedures undertaken. No wonder this has won multiple awards and has been such a popular read! A well deserved 5 star rating, with a ton of recommendation...Great work by this author!

the title was right, this really did hurt.

Really enjoyable quick read, a real stick in the throat account of how GREAT and BAD it is being a doctor for our NHS.

Very funny I laughed out loud a lot. Although became a bit tedious when the end. I would recommend.
