Reviews with content warning for Sexual assault - So This Is Christmas

Cute, Christmas-y story. Refreshing plot about an ambitious career woman that doesn't veer into Hallmark "ice queen who needs to just chill out" vibes. Cara and Matteo don't always communicate well, but it wasn't the over the top miscommunication type that grinds my gears. The third in this series, I would say while it is standalone, the references to the previous books are more about specific plot details than character cameos alone.

The beginning started a bit slow and then ended up ramping up very quickly which felt a bit forced and rushed. Overall I enjoyed it, it is a bit of a "no thoughts just vibes" kind of book but done fairly well.

This is a dual-POV and often it was not super obvious when switching between them, as it occasionally happened multiple times in a single chapter.

A lovely final novel in Jenny Holiday’s Christmas/Eldovia trilogy. I love the strong women, the emotional intelligence of the men, the nerdy gloss, and updates regarding characters previously introduced. I love the balance Holiday finds between the intended, OTT Hallmarkness and building authentic characters. A really solid seasonal read and a rare enemies-to-lovers that I actually like!

I liked parts of the book and hated certain other parts, mostly that it was such a SLOW BURN romance, which isn't really my thing, give me the spice! But I did like the overarching themes of family and strong women being sexy. I liked that in the end,

she didn't give up her job

, which is one thing I dreaded happening. I did also like the inclusion of

attempted sexual assault and her fighting back and stopping it, though I know that's not always possible.
