"You should know by now, an orphan has no home".

Throughout the Grishaverse, we see a whole culture with tales, some written as another book or some just told in a few lines. I've only seen a few books do that —tell the stories, the myths, the legends in a culture where it's either completely fictional or it's real.

We see Alina evolve, and that might be my favorite part of the Shadow and bone trilogy, as Sankta Alina, as the people call her. She gets stronger, more solemn, she has more confidence in herself and what she's capable of.

I took my time with this one, though it felt like it took me years to read and I say this in a good way, it was like I lived inside the book. I am enamoured by Leigh Bardugo's pen.

tbh the only reason i read this book was bc i wanted to finish the series so i could read six of crows 😭

i really like leigh bardugo’s writing and i came across a LOT of quotable lines throughout the book, but the only characters i actually cared for were mal and nikolai (maybe misha). other than that i would’ve NEVER gotten through this book. i didn’t even care what happened to the plot a lot of the times

although i do like the ending, i have to rate this 2.75 stars ⭐️ probably won’t ever think abt this book again after this series 😭 SORRYYY

The trilogy did have a lot of flaws and till the end I couldn't really stand Mal, however especially the side characters were really interesting thus making me want to constantly pick up the book.
I'm excited for what's to come for my beloved Nikolai, Genya and Zoya<3
