I was sad. I really enjoyed the first half of the book but for some reason the second half was just blah and I was bored :(

I went into this book with little to no expectations about the plot, and I had an enjoyable time reading it for the most part, however I just reached a point where I didn't really care what was going to happen next.
To anyone who is interested in reading, it's not a bad book! It just felt a little long to me and I didn't want to force myself to finish it.

very interesting/original concept, the heartbreakers in action were some of my favorite parts to read
Honestly, I got kind of I-hate-women vibes. It uses very harmful anti-women tropes with little to no nuance. I understand what the author was going for, but it missed the mark. Just not for me.

This book had a really fun plot and I genuinely enjoyed the secret identity life of Brinkley. She's supposed to be an Administrative Assistant but, since her terrible verbally abusive/cheating boyfriend broke up with her, she's really a Heartbreaker at Heartbreak for Hire. I loved all the ridiculous scenarios Brinkley got herself into. All the sleezy jerk men who were taking advantage, manipulating, stealing, and generally hurting women, get completely destroyed.
I loved her relationships with her best friend, and the other ladies she works with. I adored how hopefully she felt around Mark, which was the first time for her in over 2 years.
Margot, the faux mother figure and boss was a wild card the entire book. Do you like her? Do you trust her? Is she also a manipulator? All the questions.
I liked this book but would rate it 18+ due to sex scenes and language. Both are graphic but also ... a hell of a lot of fun.

I received a digital ARC from NetGalley.
I'm kind of all over the place with this. It's a quick read, but while I find the whole vengeance-for-hire model intriguing, other than the satisfaction in collecting incriminating evidence for lawsuits (in the case of financial and intellectual property theft), it doesn't, as Brinkley realizes, allow one to reclaim one's self-esteem in the end. All it does is make you see the worst in everyone (not just her former boyfriend) and permanently bitter. Mark's addition to the Heartbreak-for-Hire team was a bit convoluted, but I bought his and Brinkley's chemistry. People so overcome with passion to be pretty much willing to get it on in public I'll never understand. And Brinkley receives so many blows from so many people in one night, in the last quarter of the book, that frankly I would've packed my bags, disconnected my phone number, and moved, apologies be damned.
