I loved the first one of this series and this one was just as good. The characters were amazing and I absolutely loved seeing the characters from the first book again in this one. Gemma and Tom had such great chemistry as well. Tom with this fun loving happy go lucky way of life and Gemma whom is withdrawn with her secrets. Together they messed so well and it was great to see Tom get his HEA after everything that happened in the first book. The storyline in this one was also really interesting, it was fun trying to unravel who Gemma actually was and what she did with all of her secrets. In terms of spice, there was actually more in this one than the first book so it’s around 3/5 for spice. Overall, I loved this one, it was an awesome continuation from the first book and it’s a 5/5 read for me. I’d recommend it to anyone.
Loved this so much! I absolutely enjoyed the different pacing of this and her debut book, More Than Shipmates. They are romances that don't quite follow the ‘normal’ formula. The author puts you right into the plot in chapter one! I loved the dual POV and the voices of both characters were easy to follow. The MMC POV is one that we got in book one so it was great to be back in his head and seeing his story play out more.

I was so excited to get back into the Below Deck series and it did not disappoint 😍 with the return of one of the previous MMCs (whom I will not name as it’ll spoil the first book 👀) as the love interest again, it was so fun to see him in a new light with a new romance.
All of the characters (as always) were so well written and I found myself falling for one of the side characters completely due to his sweet and loving bromance with the MMC.
There’s a few heavy topics discussed such as Gemma’s mental health after going on a reality dating show that left me with a lot of thoughts and I think the way young people’s experience with social media and being in the public eye was done so so well.
The humour between Brits and Americans that had me laughing out loud in book 1 made a return and I couldn’t be happier. With so many fun and wonderfully saucy and spicy moments (one of them in chapter 1 - this book starts off hard and fast… 😏) this book was lighthearted and an easy read. And I finished it in about 24 hours. Like I could not put it down. And now I just need the next one 🤩
You can absolutely read this as a standalone but to understand the relationships more I would definitely read book 1.
Highly highly recommend this book and series if you want some lighthearted chick flick spicy spice romance set on a cruise ship 😘

Thank you to the author for an eARC!
Would have been 4.75 if Gemma went to therapy

This is the second book in “Below Deck” series.
I did not read the first book, but I think I should have. It was nice that a recap was included.
Tom is comedian that works on a cruise ship and went viral on social media. But he still needs help with his content. Megan is a former influencer that had a bad experience at a dating show and came to hide on the cruise ship. She already “knew” Tom from her brother’s pictures and agrees to help with his videos.
There is a dual POV and we get more from Tom’s side. Megan’s past is just hinted until we get all the information.
Even if the cover has cute rom-com vibes, this is pretty spicy.
I liked the way the relationship developed and that Meghan found friends amongst the staff. Hopefully there will be a book about Jack.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley and Summer Stars Publishing. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I wish I had done a little more research before reading this because I was surprised by a few tropes I absolutely despise: miscommunication and ow/om situations . I think I would have enjoyed it a little more if I knew beforehand that there would be ow/om action with the fmc (both during the 3rd act breakup and then after they're back in a relationship) , but because I wasn't expecting it, I just felt clobbered by it. I will say that I did enjoy this author's writing style, but not some of her choices when it came to progressing the plot. It just wasn't for me, and I ended up hate-reading it about halfway through.

Gemma is searching for anonymity by working on a cruise ship and Tom is trying to boost his social media presence while having to be away from comedy gigs. She tries to help him, while still staying behind the camera after a very unconventional first meeting. What will happen as they spend more time together?
It starts out with a recap of book one, to help you get your bearings on the world. I definitely appreciate when authors do this! I did struggle a bit with this book. There were plot lines that disappeared completely or didn't feel cohesive throughout the entire book, which led to characters making decisions that felt jarring. There were also several moments that I would have desperately welcomed in the dynamic of book one, but felt very confusing here. It's also marketed as a brother's best friend romance, but that is actually barely a blip in the story. This one was unfortunately not for me.
Thanks to Summer Stars Publishing and NetGalley for an egalley of this book for an honest review.
