I will never turn down a second-chance romance. Blair and Denver are finally getting their story and it was hot and emotional. You will fall off your seat when you hear that they were separated by 14 years!! Fourteen years after an incident that is slowly revealed through flashback chapters. I loved seeing their beginning and how they were truly soul mates but then life had other plans. I loved the discussion regarding birth control and a woman’s right to her body. There was good representation of depression and getting help. We also have major health struggles. It was deep and heartbreaking but it was good. Denver is a beast on a mission to get Blair back and his doggedness was endearing. The reformed man whore realizing the FMC is his woman and he needs to now grovel is perfection. Blair had him on a leash and I love that Bailey Hannah writes these obsessed men. I also loved that Blair is the eldest daughter to the max with her unwillingness to ask for help, overloaded mental checklists, and desire to succeed. She left her planned life to take care of her mom and work closer to her family. She sacrifices always and the one time she decides to finally help herself in the past her relationship implodes. Girl, you did what you had to do. My heart went out to her and loved her blooming through this story.
The spice was 🔥 and may be intense for some readers or perfect for others. Let’s just say that Denver is devoted and I felt it was not out of place for them. The story has a great ending that really had me smiling. I can’t wait for the next story.

I’m so sad this wasn’t good when Seeing Red is one of my favorite books. I felt like their trauma and past wasn’t addressed enough. The MMC blurted out inappropriate lust and she ate it up despite their past and the last few (negative) encounters. The FMCs feelings for the MMC fluctuated so much: she was jealous and mad at his promiscuous past and really uncertain of being involved with him then settled on “taking it one day at a time” until she suddenly admitted to herself she was in love with him and she always loved him. Girl, despite him abandoning you and always having arm candy? Ugh
I only kept stars because it was cute reading them grow up together and their lives around the ranch. I also liked Red and Cassidy’s cameos.

I liked the beginning and the end of this story. Denver & Blair certainly had chemistry but I wanted to see more development between them. It's like one second they met again, then there were constant flashbacks of their past and they were tangled up again in the present very fast. They were both stupid and made mistakes when they were teenagers but I felt like they hadn't grown up much. They were still a bit immature. There was emotional depth and all the characters were solid but I just did not feel connected to them at times tbh. Also, Blair came across as very selfish in the past. She decided to do everything on her own and got mad at Denver after going through the whole process, when she knew that he did not want that. Since he loved her so much and they had their entire life planned out, he definitely had a say in that situation but she was not mature enough to have an open, serious conversation with him and then expected him to show up for her. And the way she kept bringing up him being with other people during their separation was actually annoying. He definitely did some things he was not supposed to, but she was the one who left, so I did not understand her sometimes. Overall, this was a good read, the romance was sweet and some emotional scenes were well written, but the execution did not meet my expectations, smh.
