I have to be honest, this was cruising along between 2-3 stars for most of the book. The character development of Cassidy and the HEA is what saved this for me. I think there was too much unnecessary drama and too many potential love interests or guys sniffing around. I didn't really understand the 180 of Tyler's behavior either. I found a lot of this just plain unbelievable.

On the positive side, I really loved Gage and how his feelings for Cassidy never wavered even under the pressure of Tyler's lies. I am definitely a girl who prefers a HEA, and sometimes I feel like authors should explore it more and not just cut the story off after the couple finally gets together. That being said, and I cant believe that I am going to say it...this book dragged it out too much and added another unnecessary dramatic issue.

I liked it ok, but it was a little cheesy/juvenile at times.

I read Taking Chances and Stealing Harper by Molly McAdams and loved them both. I love her writing. I got this book and loved the build up of the characters in this story. Ty definitely made me not like him at a few points, but the story and the love is clearly there. I love that the book ends without leaving you hanging or waiting for a sequal.

I gave it a higher rating because this story kept me interested. The only flaw was it was never ending. I love the way Molly writes and I love her dramatic story lines, but this book seriously just kept going. I think it either could have ended earlier or been split up into two different books.

Now the characters I became obsessed with expect Cassie is so frustrating I feel she really just isn't an intelligent girl. She just kind of have up on everything so quickly, she didn't try to pursue anything for her life except a job at Starbucks. She is so dependent on other people it's frustrating. She also NEVER knew what she wanted she was constantly indecisive. Cassie needed a backbone.

Besides that I completely loved the book. I've read it a couple times when I get bored, but it really is an entertaining storyline! And if you need a long book for a plane ride or something like that, this is your book because it is like the Mary poppins purse of books. It. Just. Keeps. Going.

5 STARS! **spoilers

I read Taking Chances (also by Molly McAdams) before this one. Even though it made me cry a lot, the plot isn't good. I wanted to read this one, but I was hesitant. Since it had a high rating, I decided to read it anyway.

I wanted to kill Tyler in like, this first half of the book. Telling her that Gage only saw her as a sister? Telling Gage that Cassidy was ... (you already know what it is ;) ) I really wanted to punch the laptop screen. I hated Tyler so much! >.< But I'm okay with him in the the second half. He did give her away (in the wedding). :)

I also hate Cara. Even if she only appeared a few times in the book, that enough for me to hate her, especially after messing up Cassidy's thoughts about Gage.

About Connor ... he's sweet. Cassi thought he was familiar, and I already guessed that he was that cop from the night when she was a child. I was right. Haha! Anyway, I shipped them when they were talking in the coffee shop and when Connor would kiss her. I shipped them for a moment. Just for a moment. :D

It's kind of sad.. About her mother dying. Well, at least she made things right before she died. How nice of her. People really do change. :)

It had a sweet ending. From Ashes is a good book. :)

I really enjoyed this book. Mostly I was glad that Cassidy finally got a happy ending. I was angry with Ty throughout most of the book. But I applauded him when he called Gage as they were leaving for California.

MAKE ME VOMIT! I don't think I have HATED a book more than this one. It enraged me. I could barely finish it. Even months after reading it, my hands shake as I write this review.

I was disgusted with this book. Cassidy is one character I would like to drop kick in the face. (I promise I am not a violent person). She is not a good person. I have actual hate for a fictional character. She is wishy washy. She is not strong. She is not brave. If anything, she is manipulative and a coward.

Tyler, dont get me started. I refuse to speak of him!

Gage: Gah he deserves so much more. He deserves actual love. Cassidy is not his true love. She cant be, true love means more than the insignificance she brought to their relationship. I lost respect for him. I felt so bad for him. To me, he settled for her.

The story is melodramatic. Its pathetic. Their world is unrealistic. The time frame is laughable. The THREE LOVE INTERESTS with the ONE AND ONLY FEMALE is exhausting, disgusting and highly deplorable.

If this had been the first book I had ever read, I would be scarred. Don't get me started on the fact that this theme (love triangles, love quadruplets) seems to be a repeated theme for this author. It gets old.

This was really sweet and entertaining seeing what they would do to be together. I like this book of Molly and I don’t normally like love triangles.

“Whoa, got it bad for your cousin's girl already, huh? You gonna try to get with that?"
I eyed Cassi in Ty's arms and shook my head as I brought my beer up to take another long drink. "Nope." Yes, yes, I am.”

The moment Cassi climbed out of Ty’s truck in Texas both she and Gage felt some weird connection that they can’t leave alone. The moment he felt the connection he wanted to be with Cassi but his cousin did not help him because Ty wanted to be with Cassi to. Cassi on the other had just wanted to be with Gage so when Ty thought she might run to Gage instead of him he started lying to both of them about each other’s feelings. Gage thought Cassi was in love with Ty and that they were dating and Cassi thought Gage did not like at all. Ty got so jealous of them that he somehow nearly lost Cassi but that pushing her away pushed her to Gage and they started dating. They both found out they loved each other and that Ty was lying to them. One night at a partying something bad happens and she runs back to Ty not because of what Gage did but because she has to go back to California. She left Gage’s place in the middle of the night with just a note explaining absolutely nothing when Ty found out about her leaving without saying good bye he called Gage to let him know. Ty told him to give her just some space she will come back to him.

“Jake looked at us like we should know this already. "SMB? Sandwich-Making Bitch.”

In California she met this Detective Conner Green and somehow he helped her trough he past and she really liked Conner but she loved Gage. So after a few week in California she went back to Gage but that day she flied back to Texas he went to California to get her and he just about missed her. He thought she left him for good so he went back to her ranch and felt shattered. Everyone was still hoping she will come back. When she got back to their apartment she noticed everything is gone so she got a new car went to pick up 2 good friends hers and went to the ranch. Everyone was so happy that she was back and that she chose to be with Gage for the rest of her life. I adored the ending it was sweet and I noticed in the book how much Gage actually loved her. I really did enjoy the book but still my favorite series of Molly’s is Forgiving Lies.

“She nodded against me. “Do you need me to do anything?”
I didn’t need a thing from her, but I wanted everything. I wanted her to leave Tyler, to love me, to want to live here with me for the rest of our lives. I wanted so damn much.
”Just go back to sleep, then enjoy the rest of the day with the girls. I’ll be back tonight.”
”I’ll be waiting her for you.”
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath in and held it. if only she knew what she did to me.”

I did not realize that this was the same author who wrote Taking Chances. This is how much I wanted to forget her. I HATED Taking Chances, and if I had known that this book was by the same author, I never would've started reading it. As it is, I wasted almost 4 hours of my life I will never ever get back.

Yes, almost 4 hours, and there was still about 40% of the book left to go! I wanted to finish it because I'd invested so much time on it and it was hard to cut my losses, but when I reached the part with the policeman, I just gave up trying to make excuses to redeem the story.

So many things wrong with it, oh where do I begin?

*****SPOILERS AHEAD*****

Characters that don't stay true to their characters and make no sense to me.

SpoilerTyler, for example, spend 11 years taking care of Cassi, and then once he got her out of her abusive home, started lying to her and manipulating her? Then he pressures her into becoming his girlfriend and having sex with him. When she rejects him because she's not ready, he gets mad and goes out and brings a girl back to have sex with, in front of her! Kicks her out of the house into the freezing cold, without a phone or coat or anything! Which causes her to freeze so badly that she ends up in the hospital.

So then Gage and Cassi ends up together, and Tyler of course hates Gage's guts, and does everything he can to break them up. While Gage and Tyler are still going out to breakfast together. Of course. *rolls eyes*

Then one night at a party, Gage and Tyler are fighting, and other guys get involved because, *everyone* is in love with Cassi! So Gage accidentally hurts Cassi, and drama happens, blah blah blah...

Gage and Cassi are now on rocky grounds but they did not break up. They're just trying to work things out. Tyler calls Cassi in the middle of the same night, telling her that her house has been burned down and her parents might be in there. So Cassi leaves with Tyler, leaving a vague message for Gage that makes him think they're over, because of course.

Funnily enough, that's when Tyler suddenly decides to be a good guy and calls Gage to let him know that Cassi is with him because her parents' house have burned down, and telling Gage to hang in there because Cassi loves him.

OMG, make up your mind, Tyler! Do you want them together or not?!

That's not the only problem though. After 11 years of abusing Cassi every.single.day, and even sending her a text message on her 18th birthday after having taken $100K from Cassi's bank account that her father left for her and actually saying "Happy you-killed-your father day" to Cassi, her mother decides to turn over a new leaf, get sober, changes her will to leave everything to Cassi, writes her a heartfelt apology, and kills herself and her husband, who had also been abusing Cassi every day for 11 years!

People don't change like that! No matter how much you want them to! Real life isn't that convenient!

Still, I tried to get past all those things. I really tried. But when Cassi started making out with Connor after having read her mother's will, because they had this "connection", while she was still with Gage. I just... I just can't anymore.

I read some other reviews and apparently it gets worse! So yeah, I might've lost 4 hours, but I'm glad I didn't lose more.

I will remember the author's name this time, so I know never to read another book she writes.

This author never disappoints. This is an emotional roller coaster full of pain, healing of, love and every feeling in between. She is one of my instabuy authors because I can count on her to keep me emotionally engaged throughout the entire book.
