So I have finally finished the "Wolves of Mercy Falls" series. I decided to only give this 3 stars because It wasn't really awesome and it wasn't really bad, it was right in the middle for me. I think i didn't like this series as much because of Grace. She didn't do anything for me as a character, Cole & Isabel on the other hand I really liked them. The ending was ok, I would've liked a bit more closure than having everything let open. I enjoyed reading the series and look forward to reading Maggie Stiefvater's other books because I really enjoy her writing.

[Note: There are a few spoilers hidden in my random blabbing. Be sure you've read the novel already!]

I actually thought that Forever was the best novel out of the Mercy Falls trilogy. It was extremely exciting, suspenseful and had me on the edge of my seat.
The thing about this novel is that it ended too quickly. I expected at least another chapter to thoroughly explain the happy ending that was always to come. How would Sam and Grace find out about Cole? Would Isabel's and Cole's odd relationship develop into something more than just lust? Would Grace survive the supposed 'antidote' or 'cure'that would make her human forever?
There was just too much questions I had at the end. It tormented me to think that the series had ended.
And seriously, I kept on thinking about how Grace completed her summer school and got a high school graduation degree. Did summer really go that fast?
I was immensely pissed at Shelby. She was like, the problem to everything but I absolutely hated how she killed Beck. Beck!
I was also subliminally pissed at Sam and didn't realise until I finished reading. Why has he been so useless?! Isabel has been right to be a little pissed at his uselessness.
Speaking of Isabel, how was her life in California? Was it torturous to be out of the loop of the big wolf drama or was she relieved?
I still have many questions now but the novel itself was well-written and full of suspense in every chapter. I almost had a heart attack when I heard of 'Litter' [which was actually an April Fool's Day joke -3-].
My four stars is actually more of a 3.75 stars but 4 is close enough ^^

This was a really good conclusion to what was kind of a mediocre but still enjoyable series. I feel like I am kind of harsh on this series, but really I'm older than its intended audience - and has I read it during my pre-teen or early teen years I probably would have loved it. However, like I said I did actually enjoy listening to this series.

SO let's talk about this book;

Sam and Cole doing literally nothing while everything was going to hell at the very beginning of the book - Isabelle trying to deal with their uselessness.

"Her lips looked like they'd like Twizzlers" - umm cool nice Cole.

UGH SAM'S SINGING - IT IS SO BAD, it is obviously meant to be romantic but no.

Boy was it a relief when Grace's mum finally started to recognize what crappy parents they had been, I mean she still made heaps of excuses to justify their behavior but still progress. When Sam called her out on behalf of Grace I was literally cheering him on.

Tom Culpeper deserves a baseball bat to the balls. I gladly volunteer to do the honors.

The confrontation and goodbye between Sam and Beck were heartbreaking. Despite my misgivings with his choice to turn Sam.

GRACE'S PARENTS STRAIGHT UP REPLACED HER WITH A CAT - NOT THAT I AM SURPRISED BUT STILL IT BLOWS MY MIND HOW SHITY THEY ARE, and then after this, they try and pull the parent card...wow. She then finally decides to be reasonable when Grace gives them an ultimatum.

Rachael frantically applying lipgloss because she can't deal with tension - relatable. Also proving herself to be a great best friend, comforting Grace when she is about to shift.

COLE SAVING SAM - WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT MR ANGST HAS ACTUAL FEELINGS.

I thought Shelby would develop into more of an antagonist but I am kind of glad she didn't because of she's so annoying. GLAD SHE DEAD.

Overall, this was probably my favorite book in the series - it was a good conclusion, however, I wished it had not been so open-ended.

A great book to end the series with. Cole had me thinking he was dead there for a while. I must say that even though there are still questions unanswered I'm satisfyed with the ending, and I'm not really sure if that's bad or good.

Grace is lost.
Sam is alone.
Isabel is broken.
Cole is Cole.

As before from Shiver to Linger, Forever picks up where the last book left off. Grace is shifting between human to wolf in a cycle that leaves her lost to the rest of the world, even when she is feet away from Sam's arms. Sam is lost without his girl, living each day unable to believe in his cure still. Isabel is trying to help, but is stuck in the middle between her father's desire to shoot all the wolves and the way Cole has before an addiction. Cole is trying to live, trying to find himself, and trying to find a cure.

I felt like this was an echo of Shiver. I liked it, but it felt like it took forever to finish with slow moments. It could be I was on the edge without knowing or it had lost the hold on my head. I would not re-read Forever like I would Shiver. Though, once more I suggest anyone who liked the first two books to try this one out as it gives peace with what could come with an open ending.

Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with this book. I remember reading Shiver and finding it enthralling and not being able to put it down. Linger was a disappointment because it didn't reach that high standard that Shiver set. Forever, however, was a disappointment in almost every way. It just fell completely flat with me until the very end. I feel like Linger and Forever could have easily been combined into one book and the series would have been much stronger. Forgive the pun, but Forever just felt like it went on forever. There were chapters and chapters where nothing really happened except people exchanged a few phone calls and thought longingly of each other. I don't need constant action to entertain me, but I do need something to keep me interested. The only thing that saved this book from a dreaded 1 star rating was the end. It was exciting and had me gripped to the seat, and the ending was satisfying in many key areas. I just wish the ending had come 250 pages earlier.
