I love Mia Sheridan’s writing, this book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the characters and I loved the storyline. I was rooting for Gage and Rory throughout the whole book and when they got together at the end, I was so happy! I really enjoyed that all the characters from the three books (Archers voice, Travis and this one) were all together in the epilogue and that Gage and Rory got engaged in Gage’s restaurant. It was such a good ending and I am really looking forward to reading more Mia Sheridan books in the future, she is quickly becoming one of my favourite authors.

Thoughts: I read the first two books in the Pelion Lake series back in 2023 so when I saw that there was a third book, I was so excited to read it. I don’t remember reading about Gage in the previous books but again, that was probably because it’s been so long. This book follows Gage Buchanan and Aurora Casteel. Gage is a businessman who is set to move to London to start up an international family firm, while Aurora is a waitress in a small town who is determined to find her father. The two run into one another in her hometown and immediately hit it off (after some bickering of course). Aurora then ends up in Gage’s town in search of her father. While this was a cute read, I didn’t vibe with it as much as I did the first two books in the series. I hated the whole possibility of them being related and found it quite disturbing. Majority of the book was Rory and Gage trying to find the real identity of the book so it was sort of a let-down when they finally find who he is and it turns out he passed away a few years back. I think my favourite part of the book was probably seeing the characters from the first two books make an appearance and seeing how welcoming they are to Rory.

People who enjoyed other titles from Mia Sheridan, such as Archer's Voice, may also like this book because there is some character overlap. However, I found that this book was predictable and didn't have enough character development for it to be a stand-alone title. To me, the romance in the story was unrealistic because Rory and Gage become attached almost immediately. Additionally, I felt that Gage's character was rather dull, since he only seemed to be described as the "perfect" man.
There were a few twists and turns that were unique to this book. I am rating it a three star because I felt it was a decent read, but not something that I would recommend to people unless they really enjoy other Mia Sheridan books.

3.5/5 stars. This books was seemingly romantic & deep, while also giving me the biggest ick, Gage and some of his buddies end up stranded with car trouble in a small town when he meets a beautiful server at the local "dive-bar", Rory & they ultimately end up having a one night stand. Rory is struggling to find her purpose in life, so she decides to try & find it by tracking down the identify of her father in the, slightly bigger, small-town where she was conceived. That small town not only is where her one night stand, Gage, apparently lives, as Rory narrows down who her father is based on her mom's stories, Gage's father is one of the four possible subjects.... dun dun dun. Enter, the ick. While these two are awaiting the results of their DNA tests to determine if they are related, they both have some dirty thoughts about each other that I just... can't look past.

If you completely take the possible sibling narrative out of this, I would probably have rated this book 5 stars because I loved literally everything else about it. The banter was great, there was the perfect amount of spice, and the mystery element of Rory trying to track down her father was fun & also really emotional. Both Rory and Gage find themselves throughout this book, with the help of each other & I loved that.

Aww I loved this book toooo. After reading Travis, I didn’t really think I was going to care about Gage that much but boy was I wrong! Gage has such a pure heart and that was really highlighted by Rory.

I had a very strong feeling Rory would end up related to the Hale brothers and I was thrilled to have been right! I love that whole family and every single one of their love stories.
