I'm not enjoying the writing style. It's like it's supposed to be funny but missing the mark in a way that just leaves it feeling boring.

Felt like Odd Thomas was narrating the story about other characters. Decent story that could have been enhanced by less side conversations or more backstory or character development.

A little to get use to the actual author superimposing into the story. It pulls you out of the story and takes away from the story. Telling information not showing how we got there.

This was hilarious. In a world in which too much of my daily life involves Serious Issues, this was a much-needed injection of fun. Koontz skewers everything and the pop culture references made me laugh out loud. Not a particularly inventive or scary plot. If you read Koontz, the only surprising thing is the fact that there is no dog (horse, but no dog).
There are some who aren't going to like the narratorial intrusions, and I can respect that. I, however, found Koontz/the narratorial character amusing.
It's easy enough to decipher the allegorical aspects of the novel and, like the works of many of his brethren, there are political layers there.

While the story is interesting. I found the ending off. It did not match the story. Let's just say the ending was too easy.
