Might be the worst book I have ever read. Stay away from this book please, it is a waste of time.

I’m usually a huge fan of Dean Koontz, but the style of writing in this book wasn’t to my taste. The author narratives felt like frequent interruptions.
It was an okay story and made me smile at the end, but overall I was eager to get it over with.

This book and I did not mesh. The only character with voice was the narrator, and that voice often held a self-satisfied superiority that seemed, at times, to mock the reader. The rest of the characters were interchangeable and lacking any nuance or depth.

Super weird and I didn't enjoy it all that much. The story is just really "out there" for my taste, and it's written in a very odd style in which the reader is directly addressed in these asides that I just didn't care for. Though the last few lines were beautiful. Overall, not my cup o' tea.

I find Koontz to be so quirky and enjoyable. His relationships and focus on the bonds and enjoyable things in life always make his books a win for me, even if they are a bit odd. Most good things are a bit odd anyhow.
Didn't love the dialogue in the first few chapters so couldn't get into it
