Very mid on this book - my special edition binding was pretty on the outside but not as enjoyable on the inside. Idk if I would classify this as a romantasy (which my b if it's not meant to be?) because the romance was barelyyyyy there and I didn't get the chemistry there. Tbh I was not expecting the ~twist~ but it didn't fit super well for me. That all said, the lead up to a sequel does have me interested <3

PROBLEMATIC AUTHOR - anti-choice + trump supporter!!!
ich habe dieses buch gelesen, ohne das wissen, dass die autorin problematisch ist. wenn ich nur das buch bewerte, fand ich es okay. so nen mid-read. die protagonistin hat mich aufgeregt, sie hat es einfach nicht gecheckt und nen alkoholabhängigen love interest fand ich auch nicht so loveable. das system in der welt war nett, ich hatte mich vorallem auf piraten stuff gefreut, der leider nicht eingetroffen ist. das buch war auch nicht sonderlich mitreißend. aber es muss auch schlechtere bücher geben, damit bessere noch mehr überzeugen <3

I actually had a lot of fun with this book - but after finding out some ~questionable~ things about the author I had to dock points. I will devour basically anything set in an academy and with PIRATES too? Yeah, such a fun time. Also my prettiest special edition yet.
