When Mrs Babcock falls down dead after drinking from film star Marina Gregg's glass, Miss Marple and the police must race to catch the killer as more bodies fall.

This was a fantastic mystery, with the answer so blatantly obvious it's a shock once it's revealed. What a tragic story, and although the ending is unjust, it is kind.

Oh, how I loved this book. This was my second Miss Marple book, and im starting to grow fond of her more and more. She is such a cool lady.
What I love about this series is, that all the solving of the mystery is based on old ladies gossiping and chitchating all the hot stuff thats happing. It always brings smile on my face.
One thing is sure. I cant get enough of Miss Marple and her brains, and im ready to read as much of this series as possible.

Super slow pace, too much intros and useless characters. Mystery solving way too ordinary.
Quite disappointed, with these pages (350+) the plot and story line should be more elaborate and interesting but that didn't happen.

I loved the beginning of this - Miss Marple in the early 1960’s with new housing reaching the village, a self service supermarket, and vacuum cleaners taking over from carpet sweepers! There’s a really humorous take on what changes and what stays the same in a community over time. The mystery was very guessable - and I don’t like that. I never even try to guess but this one just falls on your lap early on!

I think I really like the Miss Marple mysteries. Her little town and the way she nosily finds out information to lead her to the clue. I like that unlike poirot it makes a little sense why she thinks of things. Its silly but I like that its random things from her past and people she's known that find the truth. This one was fun, The narrator was good had a varitety of voices that didn't feel too awkward. The story built well and really kept me guessing and it had a good little arc for miss marple. I dont know if its the best book but I enjoyed it.
