It is slow to start as the groundwork is laid for the first 80 pages but picks up after there.
Miss Marple and Craddock have a great friendship which is lovely to read about. The devil is in the details that seem at first insubstantial but later prove most important.
It is a fun mystery but I think it would be better to read within the series about Miss Maple rather then a standalone like I did. I believe that if read in the context of the series one could really fall in love with recurring characters, the community and the atmospher  this book creates.

Definitely one of the best Christie mysteries I have read. There's a bit of unfortunate language related to persons with developmental/cognitive disabilities and of certain ethnicities. But, what can you do, it was a different time.

A Miss Marple Mystery

Not as underwhelming as [b:Postern of Fate|102311|Postern of Fate (Tommy and Tuppence, #5)|Agatha Christie|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1295679581s/102311.jpg|6564882] (that is the AC book I found the worst), but - AND I REALLY HATE TO SAY THIS ABOUT AN AGATHA CHRISTIE BOOK- still boring, dragging and most of the time pointless.

YAWN.
