Rereading this as an adult, it's a lot harder to let go of the fact that Daine is 16 and Numair is in his 30s.

Oh, this is definitely a great way to wrap up a series. And I just LOVED the love story between Daine and Numair. So nice. If they hadn't known each other so long, I might have felt weird about it. Or maybe I should feel weird. I don't know. She was underage, and he was like 10 years older than her. But they were well complemented for each other, so I couldn't help wanting them to be together. And he was a good man. *shrug*

***re-read and I still feel weird about it. I just wish Pierce had made Daine a little older in this book. I think she was like 16!!***

And this series comes to a close for me once more. This quartet will still remain on my list of favorite books to cuddle up with at least every few years.

The Realm of the Gods is my least favorite of the series, but I still love portions of it to pieces. Even though this book is action packed with Gods and immortals, I find it a bit slow. Daine's powers in this book are enormous. She's come very far since book one. And let's not forget the wonderfulness that is Numair.
SpoilerAnd these two idiots finally admit that they're meant for each other which leaves me all swoony. I'm such a sap. I can't help it!

This book isn't without some new friends for Daine and cameo's from other favorite characters of books past. That's one of my favorite things about Tamora Pierce's writing, you never really have to say goodbye to your favorite characters because they're always popping up here and then to give you updates on their lives. Tortall is such a rich world.

Now to start counting the days until [b:Arram|17312156|Arram (Numair, #1)|Tamora Pierce|/assets/nocover/60x80.png|23976276] is released.

I've owned these books for years and reread them every so often. Always worth my time. :)
